Here you can see a couple of photos where we try to teach them good basketball.

 

We went to Murcia to play against some teams: CB Granada, Real Madrid, Marme San Javier, Unicaja Málaga and Polaris World CB Murcia.

 

 

On Saturday, we won our game against Polaris Murcia but not against Unicaja who finally was the champion of the event.

 

 

 

Last game on Sunday morning, against Real Madrid. We won it (11 points difference).

 

 

Finally, the team receaving the 3rd final position cup.

 

We flight to Tenerife to play some interesting games agains first level teams: Real Madrid, Joventut Badalona, Pamesa Valencia, Magec Tias, F. C. Barcelona, Estudiantes, Gran Canaria and San Isidro.

 

We had some free time between each basketball game. We enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis table very much :-)
 

 

Two groups of four teams. We played on group A and we won the three games against Estudiantes, San Isidro and Pamesa Valencia. 

 

 

Then we played two more games: semifinal agains Joventut Badalona and the final against Gran Canaria. We played an excellent second half agains Joventut and then we arrived to the big final !

 

 

Unluckily we played the final with only 7 players (we lost 3 players during the other matches because important injuries). With only 7 players and a very good playing, we arrive to the last 5 minutes of the game with good possibilities to win, but finally we can't and Gran Canaria won the final. Here the team receiving the 2nd final position cup.

 

 

Finally, as a joke, boys put a can of cat food on my table in the supper time... felix the cat :-D

 

Some players and coaches went to see one game of our senior team against one NBA tean, Philadelphia 76ers. Allen Iverson is one of the most important players of this NBA team.

FCBarcelona made history becoming the first spanish team to win one team from the NBA.

 

Most of our current young players have no idea about who Ignacio Solozábal was. They never saw him playing basketball because they were very young.

But for my generation, Solozábal, plus Epi, Andrés Jiménez, Norris, Chicho Sibilio, Steve Trumbo, etc, means everything. We started loving basketball watching them on TV and enjoying with all the titles they won.

Today, 14 years after his last game, Solozábal received a tribute from his club and friends. Nobody will use his T-shirt (numer 7) again in this club.

 

 

It was a great pleasure to see again excellent FCBarcelona ex-players of 10-15 years ago. They remain forever in our memories because they were excellent basketball players and we enjoyed a lot watching them.

For instance here we have Audie Norris. Who doesn't remember Norris fighting against Fernando Martin (Real Madrid player)? 

 

 

Other excellent FCBarcelona ex-player, Andrés Jiménez. Here you can see him with myself, and two players of my team, Francesc and Albert.

 

 

Three incredible basketball players: Ignacio Solozábal, Chicho Sibilio and Juan Antonio San Epifanio, SuperEpi (the best european basketball player of the 80's).

A real pleasure to see them together again...

 

We went to a town near Valladolid to play three interesting games against Joventut Badalona, Real Madrid and Selección Castilla y León.

 

 

 

We lost the first game against Joventut Badalona and we won the other two: Real Madrid and Selección de Castilla y León.

 

Happy day in our basketball section, because the senior team won the important Copa del Rey 2007 championship in Málaga against Real Madrid in the big final.

Not only the professional team, also our 14 years old team (the one where I was team coordinator one year ago) won the same final against Real Madrid too.

Here you can see a nice photo of the two teams, professional and amateur, with the two cups offering them to the audience. Congratulations to all them !!

 

We went to Zaragoza to play 6 basketball games in 3 days. We didn't travel alone, because female UB Barça team joined us in the travel to Zaragoza.

 

 

 

We played really great and we won the six games, including the semifinales against Estudiantes and the big final against Real Madrid :-)

 

The four best 15 years old basketball teams in Catalonia played the Catalonia finals: Joventut Badalona, Unió Gironina, Sant Josep and FCBarcelona.

 

We went to Terrassa to play 4 games in 3 days against Sferic Terrassa, Estudiantes, Caja San Fernando and Sant Josep. Three games won, 1 lost.

 

After the Catalonia finals, we went to Palma de Mallorca to play the Sector. We won the four games we played, so we were the champions.

 

 

We won the final against Joventut de Badalona and now we are going in a few days to Almeria to play the Spanish finals.

 

The season is going to its end. We went to Almería to play the spanish finals.

 

 

We ended in the fifth position. Final classification was:
